starry birthday

Wednesday, March 11, 2009

Hi peeps! I was at my little cousin's place earlier & I was delightfully surprised to know that she's into scrapbooking/cardmaking as well! I think I may have to convert the whole fam! *lol* We could have a family crop session or something :)
Anyways, on to today's card. I wanted to make a more masculine birthday card so I used kraft cardstock and stamped a star border on the edge. Then I used a exacto knife & metal ruler to cut a straight line down the stamped stars & cut out the edges by hand.I'm finding a need to make simpler cards nowadays, it's so much harder! Getting the colour and composition right is touch esp. since I'm always looking to add more onto my cards. Do you have that problem?
Anyhooos here a close up!
Thanks for stopping by today :)
card supplies:
cardstock: papertreyink kraft
stamps: papertreyink heartfelt basics, faux ribbon & star from an old stamp set i have no idea where from!
ribbon & jute: misc
pearls: local store
star accent: making memories

Yes, I found the same thing a few weeks ago. I sat down to make a clean and simple card and it was so challenging! I always want to add ribbon or flowers or something!
