Paper Quilting, Sewing Machine blabs + a winner!

Friday, March 20, 2009

Hello hello! It was nice to check in today and see all the comments all of you left, you guys are so nice & cupcakey sweet :) I truly enjoyed reading every single one of them! I had a great dinner with my family last night, not posting photos up though. you'll have to wait till i scrap them haha.
2 shares today, a card + a bookmark i made using the scraps:I had these scrap patterned paper lying around & i HATE to waste so I just grabbed my 1" square punch & started punching away! Then I grabbed a piece of vintage cream (basically vanilla) cardstock from papertreyink & arranged the little squares around with repositionable glue.
I machine stitched the squares next & then mounted the whole thing onto kraft cardstock. The sentiment is from Papertreyink's 'damask designs' set & the SEW i stamped using Heroart's basic lowercase letters.
And from the leftover squares I made this bookmark for T using my new 'elephant' stamp set from Heroarts. It was love at first sight between him & those cute elephants. I Love it too! I think i will be using my sewing machine more often :)

Here's a close up, don't mind the horrible sewing machine stitches (i'm still a newbie ) So much so i swear i was tempted to throw my sewing machine out the window when the thread got stuck & messy on the lower bobbin part. (i managed to stop myself obviously *lol*)

And we have a winner for yesterday's giveaway, i used random.org & it picked comment no.6! Thank you for all the well wishes everyone :)

Happy Birthday!! I hope you have a wonderful dinner this evening!!I actually just turned 27 myself a couple weeks ago. :)I am grateful for family. I am currently having a "girls" weekend with my mom, my aunt, my cousin and my cousin's daughter. We all live too far apart - so we really relish the chance to get together and spend some time with each other!
