Come Little Duckie play with me

Monday, May 18, 2009

Happy Monday everyone! So how about a baby card to start off a new week? Babies= new beginnings, right? It's a card I made quite some time back but have yet to post, I hope you like it! I think it'll be great for a baby shower or perhaps even an invitation :) The base is Papertreyink's Aqua Mist cardstock ran through the cuttlebug with the 'swiss dots' embossing folder. The white base is criss-crossed scored with my cutterpede and the yellow base is die cut with square nestabilities & then embossed. The cute duckie image is from papertreyin's 'bitty baby blessings'.
The ribbon is 'vanilla' satin also from PTI.
A great find to share today. Check this blog out, I'm loving it!
Thanks for stopping by today, have a good start to the week :)

Baby gift set

Tuesday, April 28, 2009

I had a video ready for today but YouTube has been down for maintenance or something for quite awhile so I can't upload anything in time. So, here I am sitting in my room/studio with the heavy thunder and lightning + rain outside (shivering dog under my desk included!) Thought I'd share with you this baby gift set I made for Isaac's 2nd birthday a couple of weeks ago. I loved Barb Schram's baby card here so much i had to case it :) I cut the little 'flag' on top with cuttlebug's tiny tags die set using some white foam & the cuttlebug then stamped the sentiment from Papertreyink's 'bitty baby blessings' stamp set. That set is a must have for baby everything!
Above is the box I custom made for this small pillow below:

All wrapped up nicely with tissue & kept folded closed with the punched out circle accent I stamped using the Just Rite stamper set. Love how I can personalise it :) Looks like it came from a boutique, eh? I save the tissue papers that the Papertreyink stamps come in, knew they'd come in handy one of these days *lol*

And there's the pillow! Recognise that fabric? Thanks Regina ;) I think it turned out pretty cute & i'm glad Isaac (and his mum) loved it! It's always nice to make something for someone from scratch & this set was one of them. Thanks for joining me today, I hope you're inspired to make something for someone today!
BTW Have you seen the number of ppl participating for sketch#12 over at Card Patterns this week? I mean wow!! We've even got a boy on the list *lol* (and he's good too!) Remember, this week's sponsor is Unity Stamp Co & there's also a guest designer spot up for grabs. GO!
Have a good one ;)

Welcome Little one!

Friday, February 20, 2009

Hi everyone! I just heard that an old friend of mine just gave birth to a healthy baby girl last night in Taipei. And what a coincidence that I'm going to share a baby card with all of you today! My heartiest congratulations to you Ching-Ya! :) Huge hug all the way from here. Playing around with papertreyink's 'bitty baby blessings' stamp set here as well as the colour combo. Not a traditional baby-ish colour but i guess it'll do *haha* The colour combo is, Ocean tides, summer sunrise, white and dark chocolate. I also scored the white cardstock into grids first with my trusty cutterpede, thought I wanted to try that. Although a Scor-Pal might give better results [deeper score lines] ? Oh well, with the economy situation now I gotta make do with what I have right? Tough times ladies, tough times....[feeling a huge pinch after my big buy over at PTI]
OK dokies, here's a close up of the details :) I know Papertreyink sells buttons now, but just so happens I have co-ordinating colours. Isn't that great!?
Thanks for popping by today!
ps: the co-ordinating copic marker colours for ocean tides is BG72 & BG75

Card : Little Star

Tuesday, August 19, 2008

A baby card just because i felt like it :) Wanted to try out my new inkadinkadoo baby boy stamps so here it is! Love how the grass turned out, I used a pinking scissor to cut out a paper and then used that to mask the ground, sponging it with some green distress ink. Too cute to give away, I'm keeping this one :)
