Paper-toled nurse

Wednesday, May 20, 2009

I hope I haven't shared this with you all before...i totally adore this stamp set from Crafty Secrets esp this cute little image of the nurse and the little ducks! It's the only stamp set that has the 'Get Well' theme I have (i think!?)The image is coloured in with watercolour pencils and then sponged on the edges with some Tim Holtz 'Vintage Photo' Distress Ink. The nurse image is paper toled, click on the photo to enlarge.
Ok, a really short post today. Got an interview to run off to.
Have a great day! :)
card supplies:
cardstock: papertreyink
stamps: crafty secrets, papertreyink's 'polka dot basics' & 'damask designs'

Card Patterns #10

Saturday, April 11, 2009

Welcome to sketch #10 for Card Patterns :) This week's sketch is SO cute!! And presenting Mr Bunny Wabbit *ta-da!*

I used on of the bunnies which I made a few days ago (check out the video too!) The sentiment is from Rubber Soul and the patterned paper is from Papertreyink :)
Our sponsor this week is Scrapbook News & review! I've had some cards published with them ( see left side bar) & they're a great online magazine for inspirational articles & projects. So if you're lucky enough to win their prize this week, you'll be one helluva lucky girl ;)
Also remember as usual, post your take on the sketch using Mr.Linky over at the Card Patterns site & you'll also stand a chance to be the guest designer for the following sketch. Good Luck!
So i've been doing a little sewing lately! Here's my very first project: a tissue holder :) the corner's abit off but i think i really got to pat myself on the back because i could actually use it *lol* I learnt how to make this from here.

I also made this, but I didn't have time to take a pic of it before I gave it to my mum (she was late for her flight to jakarta). Anyhooosss , have a great weekend!! xoxo

Card Patterns #6

Saturday, March 14, 2009

Welcome to another Card Patterns Saturday! I trust you're all having a great weekend??? I just had the most wonderful Birthday Nail party, and that definitely made MY weekend ;) Hope yours is great too!
Here's this week's sketch:And here's my take :
I went a tad crazy with this card. A classic case of 'wanting to add 1 more thing' syndrome *lol*. You probably can't tell, but there's vellum cardstock somewhere under all those layers :) And I really loved making the ruffles on the main accent, really easy with Scor-tape & ribbon! i totally recommend scortape, unlike the usual stamping up red sticky tape, you can tear the edges off the Scor-tape with your fingers. Plus at USD$5 for 27 yards, you get more mileage for your dollar. I got mine over at Papertreyink.

Here's a close up look at the details :

I hope you enjoyed my take, do pop by Card Patterns to see what gorgeous cards the design team came up with :)

This week's sponsor is My Favorite Things aka MFT & they'll be giving away this cute stamp set to 1 lucky winner! So remember, post your take on Sketch#6 over at Card Patterns using Mr Linky (links to direct post only pls). By posting your take on the sketch you get 2 chance to win, 1 for the prize & another for a guest designer spot :) Good Luck & have a great weekend!

Card Patterns Sketch #5

Saturday, March 7, 2009

Welcome to another weekly post for Card patterns! Good news, my mum is out of the hospital, yeay!!! She just needs more bed rest before she can come home to Singapore. Thank you all once again for all the well wishes as well as prayers, I appreciate them SO much :)

Anyhoos here's this week's sketch: The moment I saw this sketch I immediately knew I wanted to play with the panda stamp from Prima. It's too cute not too!

No patterned paper were used on this card, all were created using papertreyink stamps. I used 'guidelines' & 'faux ribbon'.The sentiment is from Cornish heritage farms & is called 'scriptures essentials'. You'll see more usage of scriptures from now on :)

Melissa from Paper Popsicles is sponsoring this lovely prize:

So remember to post up your take on sketch #5 using Mr Linky over at Card Patterns! There will be 2 winners, 1 for the guest designer and another one for the lovely prize :) Good Luck!

Do not worry!

Thursday, March 5, 2009

I fell in love with the verses from this stamp set over at cornish heritage farms & just had to play with it.
This card comes in good time & good faith as I just found out this morning my mum has been hospitalised for dengue fever in Jakarta. It's hard not to be there but my elder brothers are there right now & they're on the way to visit her. I know she is in good hands at the hospital she is in. I can only put my hands, heart & mind together in prayer for her speedy recovery.
card supplies:
cardstock: papertreyink
stamps: scriptures I from cornish heritage farm, guidelines from pti
ribbon: papertreyink
button: basic grey
pink bling: prima
others: sewing machine
