The box i was talking about...

Saturday, January 24, 2009

...and 2 more cards to share!
Ok, I know yesterday I said I'm done blogging for this week but I had to share these! Too cute not too *grinz*
So I was talking about this gable box tutorial from Splitcoast Stampers, and I made 2! Aren't they cute???
I'm loving the Raspberry Fizz paper from PapertreyInk. You can find those here. I also used their summer sunrise & dark chocolate paper for the above gable box as well. Actually now that I look at it, everything's from PTI! You know u're in love when you use them unconsciously :) The stamp set is 'Love Songs', full of adorable images & sentiments. Definitely one of my faves.

Next, I made a baby blu-ish gable box for my friend. [she requested this color combo for her bf]

The stamps for this box is from Heroarts, it's actually part of a round journalling stamp. I just taped off the parts I didn't want, inked the image & removed the tape before stamping. Easy technique to get the part you want from any stamps :)

On to the cards:

CardPositioning systems challenge this week was to use any past sketches so I chose #87 [this one] for the card above. I did the colors for the background with a brayer & a rainbow ink pad. Then I stickled the main flower & adhered pink bling onto the centre of the stamped flower images.

You can hardly tell from the photo but the large dots on the background are stamp-kissed with another heart stamp I had. I also added a butterfly by stamping it with StazOn on a transparency, cut & colored it with copics and adhered it next to my sentiment with glossy accents.

So after some bold colours I was in a softer baby pink mood [again] so I used pti's sweet blush paper for this. Love the soft colour! I then embossed the front with my square nestabilities & cuttlebug to create a frame around my sentiment & image.

The stamp is from IOD & I used copics to color the image . The stamp is actually a 2 tiered cake stand with cupcakes on top, I just snipped off the top part & used that for the inside of my card.

The sentiment is from autumn leaves & I heat embossed that with fine details gold embossing powder. I hope you likey!

Ok, I'm off for some last minute packing, enjoy your weekend :)

layout: Embrace....

Monday, January 19, 2009

Good morning peeps! Just wanted to share a layout I made with this sketch from Pencillines using 'Embrace' from One Little Word last night. I love challenge blogs, and always try to find the time to play along.
These blogs [two of my faves of which i'm participating in today] often have prompts to help you along with your layouts. Pencil Lines has sketches and One Little word has just that, one word to use on your pages :)
What's your fave challenge blog?I've linked up some of my favourite ones on the left side of the blog, go check them out. And if you know a great one out there, please let me know! :)
On to the layout! I absolutely adore my shihtzu teddy & my bf Tristan. My double 'T's as I like to call them. I had these photos developed & had to scrap them. Love these photos, I may just blow them up & frame them. Altered frame, of course! Remember you can click on the photo to enlarge, but here are a couple of close ups just in case ur lazy :)

The buttons are a mixture of basic grey and some I found at my local craft store. The brown heart bling is from Prima. The orange swirl sticker is from Basic grey's ambrosia line & I'm totally loving that sequin trim from a previous Scarlet Lime kit. The sheer ribbon didn't exactly go where I wanted it to, so i attached a flower brad to hold it in place.
I made a pull-out for my journaling & kept it closed with a photo turner from 7Gypsies. Normally, I would just do my journalling straight on the layout itself but i wanted to write abit more esp. about the word embrace & how it relates to my relationship with these 2 etc.
Thanks for popping by today, do come by tomorrow as I picked up some Copics. Love Copics, can't wait to show you! :)

The right shoes with CPS #98

Tuesday, January 6, 2009

Ok girls, 2 posts today. Scroll down further to check out the new Heroarts catalogue!
SO Finally !I found time to play with CPS's sketch this week.

I've gotten so much inspiration from that site but have never been able to play along, so I'm glad I got the chance to sit down and get my fingers inky :) They have a group of very talented designers PLUS they have a giveaway this week , so go check them out!
For this card, I played with my 'greenthumb' set from PTI for the main image. I couldn't find a spot to put my sentiment so I just placed it right across my image using a transparency {stamped with black StazOn & adhereing with glossy accents, love that stuff} I love how you can stamp separate parts of the boots in different colours, PTI's so versatile :) I hope you likey my card, Here's the sketch #98 I used:

Card: Sending Love Your way

Monday, October 20, 2008

Made this card inspired by the CPS sketch just before i left last week, playing with Gamsol here and rub ons :)
And a little album i made quickly to remind him how much i love and miss him for every single day that i was going to be away. It's for him to open and read the note i left for him on the corresponding dates. Love my mini tab punch, really came i handy for this :)
